WAUPUN POST CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY WITH DINNER

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, Waupun's Bentley-Hull VFW Post 6709 held their anniversary dinner. It was held at the Rock River Country Club in Waupun. Guest speaker was 6th District Commander James L. Romnek, who precided over the installation of the new officers of the post.

Frank Mesa continues as Post Commander. Wally Riel Jr. continues as Sr-Vice Commander. Larry Duer takes over the Jr-Vice Commander position. Merlin Schouten continues as Post Chaplain. Todd Snow takes over the Judge Advocate position. And Thomas Behlke will assist John Williamson as Quartermaster.
In attendance were two members of the former VFW Post Auxillary, June Southard and Delores Duer. Former Post Commander Donald Remmel's widow was also in attendance.
Special Certificates of Appreciation were given to Fred Zurbuchen, Wally Riel Sr., Cliff Telezke, Todd Snow, and Merlin Schouten, for their time and dedication to post activities and duties. District Commander Romnek also commended Larry Duer for his exceptional work in reporting the post's activities and special events to the local medias and posting onto the new VFW web site.
