Pup Tent 3 "PLASTER OF PARIS" Hosts Ice Cream Socials

Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 5:04 PM

by Grand of WI

Pup Tent 3 "PLASTER OF PARIS" hosted an Ice Cream Social on July 20th and on August 10th at the Charles S. Middleton V.A. Hospital in  Madison.  This is a really "cool" way to "Keep 'em Smiling in Beds of White."

This is only one of the many ways we can serve our fellow veterans in the V. A.  Hospitals.

Great Job. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again Cootie Joe Lempa for this report, and all of the great Cooties at PT 3 for their hard work.

New Grand Chaplain of the Year Program Form

Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 4:58 PM

by Grand of WI

The latest form for Chaplain of the Year Competition has been posted to our web page. All you have to do is click on the Online Cootie Forms link in the WI Cootie Grand web page. You can access the VFW website by typing in www.vfwofwi.com in the Uniform Resource Locator address bar at the top of the internet browser, then click on the WI Cootie Grand link. It is part of the Online Cootie Forms web page.

Let's get behind this program like we did with the Grand Hospital Program. There are Pup Tent Sky Pilots who are doing the work and not getting the accolades they deserve. Let's give them their due. Cooties throughout the Grand need to participate and make sure that their Sky Pilots know how much we value them and the work they do. In case of a tie in judging, each participant will receive an award.

As your Grand Adjutant, I will insert a gentle reminder in the General Orders from time-to-time.I am supremely confident that we can do anything we put our minds to. Let's do this!

OUTSTANDING JOB ON HOSPITAL REPORTING

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 3:30 PM

by Grand of WI

Once again the Cooties in the Grand of Wisconsin have shown why we are the best of the best. We've done an outstanding job in hospital work and reporting. I knew that we had a great group of Cooties in Wisconsin, but I didn't know just how good they were.

I want to thank all of you for your hard work and your concern for our fellow veterans. You have made my job as Grand Hospital Chairman a pleasure for the last two years.

I hope that you will continue the good work and reporting as Cootie Neal Schwartz takes over the office of Grand Hospital Chairman.

It has been an honor and a pleasure serving you in this capacity and I wish Cootie Schwartz an outstanding year as he assumes his duties.

MEMBERSHIP - WE DID IT!!!

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 1:33 PM

by Grand of WI

As we near the end of the Supreme Cootie year, for the first time in several years we have reversed the trend of declining membership. I view this as a healthy sign that there is still some fight in most of us old war-dogs, and more importantly that there are still VFW Comrades who are interested in being members of the “Honor Degree of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.”  With the same diligence in future years we can make this a permanent pattern of membership growth that will bring us to a new, vital, and ever more productive era in the history of the Grand of Wisconsin. WE DID IT!!!  I want to thank all of my fellow Cooties who worked so hard to reach that goal.  Cooties that wouldn’t back down in the face of adversity. Cooties that knew what had to be done and did it. Adequate words do not exist to convey how extremely proud I am. JOB WELL DONE AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Now Available - Grand General Orders for May 2008

Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 8:57 PM

by Grand of WI

Starting with the May General Orders, each set including other information of interest shall be posted to our Cootie web page. It is my intention to publish one set  each month and mail, email, and then post them to this web page for each of the following twelve months.  If membership is the lifeblood of our organization, then communication is the heart that pumps that blood.

I will also strive to have the Grand Roster available at VFW King Day in July.

Pup Tents with information to offer for General Orders should contact the Grand Adjutant.

Membership Recruiting Tools

Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:19 PM

by Grand of WI

Greetings once again fellow Cooties. The Pup Tent Application Form and accompanying Letter of Invitation are now available on the Cootie web page. The idea is to make a list of worthy VFW Comrades you know and send them the invitation letter, the application form, and the information on your Pup Tent. Follow up on the invitation letter. That is, let them know when and where your next scratch is and invite them to attend. Keep the VFW Post Commander in the information loop. Explain the application process to him or her, and answer any questions about the application procedure. If they are not a Cootie invite them to join as well.

This is a great organization with a worthy goal. The MOC Grand of WI deserves to be perpetuated and kept vital for as long as there are hospitalized, institutionalized, and home-bound veterans who need us. Let's not forget the wonderful children in the VFW National Home for Children.

You may print as many copies of these two documents as you need (the more the better). They are in Adobe PDF format.

If you do not have the latest version of Acrobat reader, you may load it free:

Member Invitation

Pup Tent Membership Application

You have the tools, now go out and get those new members.

Don't forget to contact your delinquent members and get them reinstated. The best way is to meet with them face-to-face if they are willing. Let's make this a strong and active Grand of Wisconsin.

Ever Closer - The Grand of Wisconsin Membership Program

Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 10:13 AM

by Grand of WI

We are drawing ever closer to our goal of 100% membership for the year but we only have a short while to achieve it. I implore my fellow Cooties to get “Busy as a Bee” and help us “Increase and Multiply” for the good of the Grand of Wisconsin. Let’s make this the first year in some time that we make 100% in our Grand Membership Program. From there we can add to our success by achieving 100% + each year thereafter.  As you can see, we have a few more Pup Tents that are at 100% or better and a few are only one to a few members shy of the mark. We are only 48 members  short. That is 2.4 members per Pup Tent. WE CAN DO IT!!!  Though  it does not show here, Pup Tent 22 has one new member and the CCDB who has had a bad accident at work and broke an ankle and fractured a wrist is now working on the  continuous members report. CCDBs who have not sent in their reports to Grand Quartermaster Gerald A. Anger, please do so now! Thanks to everyone who has helped recruit  new  Cooties.

Yours in L.O.T.C.S.,
