General Orders #3 for July 2009

Posted at 12:42 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 by Grand of WI

Greetings Fellow Cooties,

Here are the General Orders for July 09. Pass them along to your Seam Squirrel, CCDB, and Hungry Cootie if they do not have internet access. If we could rely on a contact member in each pup tent who would print copies for their above mentioned officers, we could eliminate the cost of mailing them. If you would like to volunteer to do so, please email, phone, or write the Grand Adjutant.

New Grand Chaplain of the Year Program Form

Posted at 4:58 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2008 by Grand of WI

The latest form for Chaplain of the Year Competition has been posted to our web page. All you have to do is click on the Online Cootie Forms link in the WI Cootie Grand web page. You can access the VFW website by typing in www.vfwofwi.com in the Uniform Resource Locator address bar at the top of the internet browser, then click on the WI Cootie Grand link. It is part of the Online Cootie Forms web page.

Let's get behind this program like we did with the Grand Hospital Program. There are Pup Tent Sky Pilots who are doing the work and not getting the accolades they deserve. Let's give them their due. Cooties throughout the Grand need to participate and make sure that their Sky Pilots know how much we value them and the work they do. In case of a tie in judging, each participant will receive an award.

As your Grand Adjutant, I will insert a gentle reminder in the General Orders from time-to-time.I am supremely confident that we can do anything we put our minds to. Let's do this!

The "Old Guard"

Posted at 9:36 PM on Monday, December 17, 2007 by Grand of WI

The famous 3rd Infantry Regiment has long been called the "Old Guard." This elite unit has the daunting task of standing guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. Rain or shine, daytime or night they perform their duties admirably. They are indeed a sight to behold. Below is a picture of one of the guards in his dress-blue uniform. He is preparing for the changing of the guard, which is an awsome ritual to behold. The soldiers in this unit are the best of the best. Emotions sweep over spectators like a tidal wave as they silently watch the ceremony unfold. Tomb Trek itself would not be possible without the assistance of fellow Cooties all across the country and the members of the "Old Guard." Thank you all for a job well done.
