For three days in June, the North Carolina National Guard and Fort Bragg's North Commissary will team up for a Commissary Outreach event on the drill hall floor of the Claude T. Bowers Military Center here.
The idea is to give National Guard Soldiers, Airmen, retirees and their families who don't get to a base commissary regularly an opportunity to buy commissary items right here in Raleigh. Many reserve component members may have had little exposure to military commissaries and may not be familiar with their commissary benefits or even that they have them.
Commissary workers will bring to Raleigh a wide variety of the same items, many of them name brand, normally available at a base commissary.
The event will run from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. on Friday, 6 June, and from 8:30 a.m. till 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Shoppers should bring their military identification cards in order to make purchases. Checks, cash and credit cards will be accepted, but no debit cards.
All military members, Guard, Reserve and active duty, retirees and their family members are eligible to shop at this outreach event.
