Minutes of District 6 Meeting 10 August 2008

MINUTES OF DISTRICT-6

MEETING OF 10-AUGUST-2008

 

 

OPENED- at 1000 hours by Commander Jerry Syes with 17 members present. Guest were Past State Commanders Bob St. Onge and Kevin Mckeating, Past District 6 Commanders Bob St. Onge, John Rubery, Kevin McKeating, Dave Ouellette, Ron Miller and Jerry Syes, State Officers were Department Rep. Commander John Rubery, Sr. Vice Commander Ron Miller, Jr. Vice Commander Dave Ouellette, Service Officer John Barrett. Prayer read by Acting Chaplin Cantara and Pledge lead by Commander Sayes.

 

ROLL CALL of OFFICERS- all present excused and accounted for.

 

MINUTES-were put on file after corrections noted

 

 RECEIPTS & DISBURSEMENTS-total in the bank $1955.72, motion Jack Cantara and 2nd Bob St. Onge to accept subject to audit-passed

 

SERVICE OFFICERS REPORT- report was given by Department Service Officer John Barrett and he mentioned the Pride baseball game and talking to other veterans organization that were present, the out reach program and going north to visit the post their and would like to schedule visits in the southern part of the state.

 

BILLS-none

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS-none

 

 MEMBERS in DISTRESS- none

 

NATIONAL HOME- Prayer read by the Acting Chaplin Cantara, bible closed donations accepted bible reopened and business resumed.

 

ROLL CALL of POSTS-all post present except Milford Post 4368, Manchester North Post 9347, and Hollis Post 11373

 

UNFINISH BUSINESS- Jim Clemons questioned about the required number of poppy’s to be purchased this year.

 

NEW BUSINESS- Kevin McKeating motion 2nd by Bob St. Onge to pay the District bond for $4000-passed

 

 

GOOD of THE ORDER- Charlie Ringleben, the new web master, explained the new web site and offered his assistants to any post needing help, he will also be doing the District 6 web site, it is recommended that all the Post Commanders forward their E-Mail address to him, Department Commander Rubery presented a plaque to the Commander of the Bedford Post for their work in Americanism, John Barrett mentioned a fund riser with the Old Style ball league and talking with the Monarchs about hospital visitation to the veterans by the hockey players, lots of discussions on the Tilton Home and the restrictions on visits, District Commander Syes will be sending out letters to Post Commanders for his visits and District meetings, Department Rep. Commander Rubery spoke about the new web site and thanked Nashua Post 483 Commander Ringleben for the great job he did putting the site together, also mentioned was the reports forms and information contained in the yellow booklet, Commander Syes mentioned 8214 having a motorcycle poker run for their men’s auxiliary president who died in an accident, Jack Cantara Past Commander Hudson Post 5791 mentioned their Honor Guard and being present at the funerals for non VFW veterans, Jim Clemons thanked the Hudson Post for all they do for Veterans.

 

CLOSING of THE MEETING-meeting closed by Commander Sayes at 1050 hrs.with Acting Chaplin Jack Cantara delivering the prayer. Next meeting to be decided and a letter sent to all Post Commanders
