VFW Post 5993 Veterans Day Ceremony

The Ava VFW Post 5993 participated with the American Legion Post 112 at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Ava Cemetary on November 11th at 11:00 a.m.

Veterans Day Ceremony At Ava High School

Ava VFW Post 5993 was invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Ava High School.  They were also requested to Post The Colors for the Ceremony.

Members of the Ava VFW Post 5993 Honor Guard along with members from the American Legion Post 112 Post the Colors at the Ava High School Veterans Day Program.

The Honor Guard Post The Colors while the Ava High School Choir watches.  After the Posting, the Choir sang The National Anthem.

After the prgram, Ava High School Students said Thank You to the Veterans for their Service.

POW/MIA Recognition Day

In observance of the National POW/MIA Day, September 18, 2009, the Ava VFW Post 5993 Honor Guard conducted  a White Table POW/MIA Ceremony at the Ava Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. 

After the Ceremony at the Senior Center, the members placed flowers on the grave site of Sgt. Charles L. Leo Wilson, in remberance.

Honor Guard Serves As Pallbearers For Fallen Commrade

 The Honor Guard served as Pallbearers' for SSgt. William Wells in Springfield, Missouri on September 14th.  The Patriot Guard and the Honor Guard escorted SSgt. Wells to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery where he was laid to rest with full military honors. 

 Honor Guard Members Richard Stitt, Jerry Garrison and Gene Crites pay respect to the Memorials at the Missouri Veterans Cemetary.

Honor Guard Post Colors at July 4th Events

The Ava VFW Post  Honor Guard Posted the Colors at the Heart of The Hills Annual 4th of July event along with the Annual Highway Church of the Nazarene Celebrate America 4th of July Event under the Command of Jim Probasco. 

 

Flag Day Ceremony-June 14, 2009

  The Ava VFW Post Honor Guard held a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, 2009.  The Ceremony was held at the gazebo on the Ava Square.  The Post Members that attended the meeting was:  Honor Guard Commander-Jim Probasco, Honor Guard Members were Gene Crites, James Lucas, Irv Reynolds and Shannon Willhaus.

Memorial Day Ceremony-May 25, 2009
