Mtn Grove VFW Charity Bingo 2-4-10

Posted at 02:39 PM on Friday, February 5, 2010 by IJK in Post 3770 Bingo Events

Mtn Grove VFW Post 3770 hosted an almost full house last night as over 90 players gathered to compete for the "Progressive Diamond" Jackpot that was scheduled to be awarded.  Spirits were high and everyone was having a great time despite the continued rain and snow that was falling outside.

These two young ladies are among our most loyal players and they certainly are fun to have around and am thankful for them and all our other bingo players.  During the course of last nights games the post awarded over $4575 in cash and prizes.

This lucky young lady got to take home the biggest cash prize of the evening when she won the "Progressive Diamond" Jackpot.  VFW Volunteer Chuck Morgan is shown counting the cash out for her.  Congratulations are extended to her on her win.

The VFW Post 3770 is privileged to have so many loyal, dedicated bingo players.  Our players make it possible for the post to raise funds to do good for veterans, service members and the community and we thank them immensely.

If you have never experienced the fun of Bingo Night at Mtn Grove VFW Charity Bingo then an invitation is extended to you.  One does not have to be a member of the VFW to enjoy the game.  The Post holds its game each Thursday evening and the action starts at 5:00 p. m.  Look forward to meeting you there.

Cheerily

Mtn Grove VFW Charity Bingo 1-28-10

This young man was the biggest winner of a single game during the bingo session held on January 28,2010. He won the "Bonanza" game.  The "Bonanza" game has the potential of paying $500 to a single winner.  Due to the predicted heavy snowstorm there were only 54 players that attended but they seemed to have a good time.  The photos below show some of the action that was going on.

The two above photos are of the players purchasing the paper for the "NightCap" game and the "Progressive Diamond" game.  This "Progressive Diamond" game will end on the next bingo occasion which will be February 4th unless weather causes a cancellation of the games.  The "Progressive Diamond' Jackpot of $700 will go to the lucky winner (s) during the next occasion.

The crowd relaxing and playing the game of bingo and helping Mtn Grove VFW Post 3770 to raise funds to further the post mission of supporting  the troops: Past - Present  and Future.  The post wishes to thank the many loyal bingo players that attend our games.

Come join us on the next bingo occasion.  The post holds these bingo games every Thursday evening.  Doors are open before 4 and the fun starts at 5.

Mtn Grove VFW Observes Vietnam Peace Accord Day

Posted at 07:07 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 by IJK in Post 3770 Events

It was a brave little band of eight comrades of Post 3770, five sisters of the Post 3770 Ladies Auxiliary and two guests that gathered on the Mtn. Grove, Mo Public Square for a 9:00 a. m. "Color Ceremony" in observance of the anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord which occurred on January 27, 1973.  The temperature was hovering at 32 degrees but those gathered enjoyed the comradery of spending this observance together.  Those gathered were called to attention, present arms and then held the salute as "To The Colors" was played and the US Flag and the POW/MIA Flag were raised, this was followed by the "National Anthem".  Order arms was then given and the troops dismissed.  The eight comrades gathered represented three WWII veterans, three Vietnam veterans and two Desert Storm veterans.

P.S. The photo was taken just prior to the beginning of the ceremony.

Mtn Grove VFW visits St. James Veteran Home

Posted at 08:10 PM on Friday, January 15, 2010 by IJK in Post 3770 Events

"Wreaths Across America" came to the St James, Mo Veteran Home.  Active duty soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood, local Boy Scouts and members of the St James VFW placed the wreaths.  VFW Post 3770 Commander Pete Proctor took these photos to share with us on January 15, 2010.

Mountain Grove VFW Commander Pete Proctor is shown presenting a Post 3770 donation to the St James Veterans Home to be used where it is needed the most.  Receiving the donation is veteran and ST James Veteran Home resident Harry Anweiler.  St James Veteran Home is about a two hour drive from Mtn Grove and VFW Post 3770 has made a donation to the veterans there for many years.
