I am a resident of Sanford, Florida, a 60 year old Army retiree, Vietnam Vet, voluntarily recalled to active duty, serving in Iraq from December 06 to December 07. I served on active duty from October 1965 to November 1985. During my 20 year career I served in Vietnam as a Company Commander with the 101st Airborne Division's, Charlie Company, 326th Engineer Battlion. I am a member of the American Legion FL post 53 (Sanford, FL) and the VFW post 8207 (Longwood, FL).
I believe that I understand “resolve” very well because I had an excellent teacher. My father spent his adult life in the Navy, a WWII veteran, stationed aboard the USS Yorktown at the Battle of Midway, a Korean War veteran and a veteran of three tours in Vietnam. I have the greatest admiration for him and his generation because, I believe, they were the last generation to demonstrate their resolve to defeat our Nations enemies, no matter how long it took or how hard it was, anything less than VICTORY was unthinkable to them. I salute you all. Many of us have served and tried our best, many have died in the attempt, but our National Will seems to have eroded to a level that only allows the easy or quick victory. Marc Breslow
I was born in Santa Monica, California in 1951 and grew up around Hollywood since my father was a TV producer and director. However, from an early age, I wanted to be an Army Officer. I attended USC, taking ROTC at UCLA, graduating in 1974 and joining the Army as a 2LT. I served for 26 years with seven years overseas in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. My service includes two years at sea assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, one year at Marine Corps Schools, two tours as battalion commander and service with Special Ops and the 82d Airborne Division. I have served in four combat zones including Bosnia, Lebanon, Dessert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I retired in 2000 and taught Army Junior ROTC in California. I was recalled after six years for a final tour with Multi-National Force, Iraq HQ.
I am participating in the Resolve to Win March effort for two reasons, first to support my comrades from Iraq. The second reason is more complicated. After 9-11, I personally felt my 26 years of service had been a failure because we had not prevented an attack on the US. After participation in the OIF from 2006-2007, I again gained a sense of victory and success. We are achieving many goals in Iraq and definitely can win the campaign. Our soldiers deserve the nations support and they deserve the victory that is achievable. People must stand up and insure our political leadership demonstrates the same dedication and fortitude... I'm 51 years old. I was commissioned a 2nd LT in the Regular Army Corps of Engineers in 1977, after graduating from UC Berkeley and its ROTC program.
After training, I was stationed in Germany from 1978 to 1981, where I was Platoon Leader, Company Executive officer, and Company Commander, in Co C, 78th Engineer Battalion. I resigned my commission in 1981 and stayed in Germany, working for a German Contractor as a structural engineer.
In 1984, I returned to the US for graduate school, and to help defray the cost, I joined an Army Reserve unit, the 820th Engineer Battalion. I served in that unit as Intelligence Officer, Company Commander, Quartermaster, and Executive Officer, until it was disbanded in 1992. I then joined the 2nd Medical Brigade HQ as Brigade Engineer, where I served until retiring in 2003. (Read More)

I was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1971 and grew up in northern Virginia. After enlisting in the National Guard as an infantryman, I attended Marion Military Institute where I was commissioned, and later Auburn University. I have served in the Army for 17 years in a variety of assignments in both the active and reserve components including the XVIII Airborne Corp (Ft. Bragg, NC), 1st Cavalry Division (Ft. Hood, TX), and 3rd Army/ARCENT (Ft. McPherson, GA). I served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and 2002, and am currently assigned to United States Transportation Command.
I am participating in the Resolve to Win March to support our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines serving overseas in Iraq. Our troops are doing a great job with a very challenging task. They ask for very little, but deserve the nation's support and gratitude. Further, our troops deserve the support of our elected officials to ensure they are resourced and utilized in a manner which allows them to come home with closure and success. (Read More)
